Change general company information on a consolidated 1120 or 1120S return

Most 1120, Page 1, General Company information (address, FEIN, and so forth) carries from the parent return to the consolidation return with the exception of the corporate name lines. These lines don't carry from the parent return but rather come from the data entered in the Organizer in the consolidation return.
If you want different general information to print with the consolidation than what appears on the parent return, do the following steps.
  1. Open the top consolidation return.
  2. Go to the
    General Information
    folder, and then the
    Company Information
    screen.
  3. Override the information as needed.
  4. Right-click in each changed field and select
    + Lock
    to prevent the fields from reverting when you re-consolidate.
