Mapping

Create a map file

There are several methods you can use to create a map file.
You can:
  • Create a new map
  • Create a new map from an import file
  • Export an existing map file

Create a map from an import file

  1. In
    ONESOURCE Platform
    , select the
    Mapping
     tile.
  2. Select the
    Source
    ,
    Target
    , and
    Year
    .
  3. Select
    Export Map Template
    .
  4. Select the type of map you want to create, and then
    OK
    . The system creates a Microsoft Excel file called, Mapping_export.xlsx.
  5. Find the exported file and rename it.
  6. Open the spreadsheet and update it with your information, then save it.
  7. Next, import the file in
    Mapping
     by going to
    Maps
    ,
    New
    , and then
    Create New Map
    .
  8. Enter a map name and description.
  9. Select the map type, and then
    Save
    .
  10. Select your import file, and then
    Import
    .
  11. Select
    Yes
     to when prompted that the import will re-map all items in the new map.
  12. Select
    Yes
     to view the log file after the import's completed.
  13. Select
    Save
     to complete the mapping process.

Create a map from an export file

  1. In
    ONESOURCE Platform
    , select the
    Mapping
     tile.
  2. Select the
    Source
    ,
    Target
    , and
    Year
    .
  3. On the
    Maps
     screen, select an existing map, and
    Open
    .
  4. Select
    Export
    . The system creates a Microsoft Excel file of the mapping which you can save and use with your own information.
  5. Select
    Save
    .
