Customize standard documents and clauses in Microsoft Word

Standard Documents and Standard Clauses include drafting notes to help you understand and customize them. You can open them as Microsoft Word templates, ready for you create your initial drafts.
  1. Use one of the following methods to open a list of Standard Documents or Standard Clauses:
    • Select a Practice Area from the
      homepage
      , then select
      Standard Documents
      or
      Standard Clauses
      from the
      Resource Types
      tab.
    • Select
      Standard Documents
      or
      Standard Clauses
      from the
      Resources Types
      tab on the
      homepage
      , then select a Practice Area.
    • Enter the title of a document or clause in the
      Search bar
      .
  2. Apply filters or use the
    Search bar
    to narrow the list of documents or clauses.
  3. Select the title of a document or clause from the list to open it.
  4. Review the drafting notes.
  5. When you're ready to begin your draft, select
    Open in Word
    to download a Word template without the drafting notes.
