Billing Analysis report

Use the Billing Analysis report to get information on billing related to Time & Expenses for a period. The report helps you analyze the productivity or realization percentage of your firm's billing rates, your margin, and which clients, staff or services are most profitable.
  • You can show detailed information or group by client, engagement, activity, or staff information.
  • If you're licensed for the Project Management module, you can also show detail or group by project and task information.
  • If you're licensed for the Client Management module, you can also group by client retention information.

Information on the report

  • ID, Name / Description:
    ID and names of items you've selected for grouping and the detail level of the report.
  • Hrs/Units (A):
    Total billable time and expense hours and units of items billed in the specified date range.
  • Amount (B):
    Total standard number of items billed in the specified date range.
  • Adjusted (C):
    Total billing adjustment (write-ups and write-downs) of items billed in the specified date range.
  • Billed Amt (D=B+C):
    Total amount for which the items included in column B were billed.
  • Original Rate (B/A):
    Average standard rate of items included in column B. Calculated by dividing the standard amount by the hours and units.
  • Actual Rate (D/A):
    Average billed rate of the items included in column B. Calculated by dividing the billed amount by the hours and units.
  • Real % (D/B):
    Realization percentage calculated by dividing the actual rate by the original rate.
  • Progress Bill Amt (E):
    Total outstanding progress bills.
  • Total Billed (F=D+E):
    Total of billed amount plus progress bills.
  • Direct Cost (G):
    Total cost based on staff cost rates of the items included in column B.
  • Margin (F-G):
    Profit on the items billed in column B. Calculated by subtracting the cost from yhe total billed.
  • % Tot:
    Percentage the margin on this row represents of the report total.
