F1310-015 e-file error

Form 1310, 'RefundClaimantSSN' must not be equal to 'SpouseSSN' in the Return Header, if the filing status of the return is not Married filing separately.
If you enter the spouse's SSN on Form 1310, then you need to file Form 1040 as married filing joint to e-file.

Solution

  1. Go to the 1310 screen in the General folder.
  2. If the
    SSN
    entered is for the spouse, you need to mark the return as married filing joint to e-file.
  3. Go to the 1040 screen in the General folder.
  4. Select
    2 = MFJ
    in the
    Filing status
    field.
