F2441-526 e-file error

Form 2441, Part II, Line 2(b), each 'QualifyingPersonSSN' provided must not be the same as a 'QualifyingPersonSSN' in Part II, Line 2 of Form 2441 in another accepted tax return for the same tax year. (value #########, rule F2441-526)
You'll get this error if this Social Security number (SSN) was claimed for the Form 2441 credit on another tax return in the IRS e-File database.

Solution

  1. Go to the Credits folder.
  2. Select the Cr screen.
  3. Make sure the SSN is correct.
  4. If there's a typo or incorrect information, correct it. Then re-create and retransmit the e-file.
  5. If the SSN is correct, you'll need to contact the IRS e-help desk at 866.255.0654 or file the return on paper with Form 8948.
