FW2-502 e-file error

Form W-2, Line B 'EmployerEIN' must match data in the eFile database. (value #########, rule FW2-502)

Solution

The value in the error message represents the
EIN
that caused the rejection.
  1. Find the payer name and EIN from the client's W-2 source document.
  2. Go to the
    Income
    folder.
  3. Select the
    W2
    tab.
  4. For every unit of the W2 screen, check that
    EIN
    and
    Employer's name
    match the client's W-2.
  5. If they don't match, correct your data entry, then re-create and retransmit the e-file.
  6. If they match, contact the employer that issued the W-2 or the IRS e-help desk at 866-255-0654.
  7. If needed, after working with the employer and IRS, you can force the
    Name control
    for the W-2 employer:
    1. Go to
      Forms view
      .
    2. Select the
      W2
      folder.

      If the W2 folder is missing, right-click and select
      Display all forms
      .
    3. Override the
      Name control
      .
