IND-995 e-file error

The Dependent/Qualifying Person Identity Protection Personal Identification Number (IP PIN) must match the e-File database. Please double check your entry and resubmit your return with the correct number. (value #########, rule IND-995)
note
The value represents the SSN, ITIN, or ATIN of the dependent or qualifying person causing the rejection.
You'll get this error if a dependent or qualifying person was issued an IP PIN and it wasn't entered on the return.

Solution

  1. Go to the 1040 screen in the General folder.
  2. Open the
    Dependent information
    statement.
  3. Enter the dependent's PIN in the
    IP PIN
    field.
  4. This PIN needs to match the PIN given by the IRS for the current tax year. If the PIN isn't known, or if you receive this rejection multiple times, have the taxpayer retrieve their IP PIN.
