R0000-571-02 e-file error

Database Validation Error: /Return/ReturnData/IRS1040/DependentDetail/DependentSSN: For each DependentSSN in the tax return, the Year of Birth in the e-File database must not be greater than 'TaxYr' in the Return Header. (value #########, rule R0000-571-02)

The value represents the SSN of the dependent causing the rejection.
You'll get this error message if a dependent's date of birth is incorrect according to the IRS e-File database.

Solution

  1. Go to the 1040 screen in the General folder.
  2. Open the
    Dependent information
    statement.
  3. Verify the date of birth and SSN for the dependent causing the rejection.
  4. Correct any typos or incorrect information, then recreate and retransmit the return.
  5. If everything's correct, you'll need to remove the dependent from the return.
  6. If the taxpayer believes the rejection is in error, they can file the return on paper with Form 8948.
  7. The taxpayer may also contact the Social Security Administration at 800.772.1213 to correct the records.

    The process to update the IRS e-File database can take 2 weeks.
