R0000-679 e-file error

'PrimaryPriorYearPIN' or 'PrimaryElectronicFilingPIN' or 'PrimaryPriorYearAGIAmt' in the Return Header must match the e-File database. (rule R0000-679-01)
You'll get this error message if the taxpayer's PIN or AGI information doesn't match the e-File database.

Solution: Verify the taxpayer information

  1. Go to the PIN screen in the Electronic Filing folder.
  2. Verify the
    Prior year taxpayer PIN
    and
    Prior year AGI
    with the taxpayer.
  3. Correct any typos or incorrect information, then recreate and retransmit the return.
  4. If both fields are correct, contact the IRS at 800.829.1040 for more information.

Solution 2: Use a Practitioner PIN

To use a Practitioner PIN for all clients:
  1. Select
    Setup
    , then
    Office Configuration
    .
  2. Select the
    E-Filing
    tab, then
    ERO
    .
  3. Mark the
    Practitioner PIN Program filer
    checkbox.
