R0000-902-01 e-file error

Taxpayer TIN in the Return Header must not be the same as a TIN of a previously accepted electronic return for the return type and tax period indicated in the tax return. (value #########, rule R0000-902-01)
note
The value represents the taxpayer SSN causing the rejection.
You'll get this error message if the SSN was used on another accepted return according to the IRS e-File database.

Solution

  1. Go to the General folder.
  2. Select the
    1040
    screen.
  3. Make sure the
    SSN
    field is correct.
  4. Correct any typos or incorrect information, then re-create and retransmit the e-file.
  5. If you entered the correct SSN, you'll need to file the return on paper with Form 8948. You can contact the IRS Identity Protection Unit at 800.908.4490.
