SEIC-F1040-536 e-file error

Each child in Schedule EIC (Form 1040) must be younger than the tax payer, if filing status of the return is Single or Head of household or Qualifying widow(er). If for any child in Schedule EIC (Form 1040), 'ChildPermanentlyDisabledInd' has a choice of "Yes" indicated, this rule does not apply for that child. (value #########, rule SEIC-F1040-536-03)
The value represents the SSN of the child causing the rejection.

Solution

  1. Verify the taxpayer's and qualifying child's date of birth on the 1040 screen in the
    General
    folder.
  2. Check for transposition errors.
  3. Have the taxpayer check their records (e.g., birth certificate or Prior Year return).
  4. If the data entered is incorrect, make the corrections and retransmit the return.
  5. If the data is correct, have the taxpayer contact the SSA at 800.772.1213.
  6. If the SSN and year of birth continue to reject, a paper return must be filed with Form 8948.
