Record deceased child dependent without SSN

The IRS requires taxpayers who are claiming dependents to furnish a social security number (SSN) for each dependent, regardless of the dependent's age. You'll need to record a child who was born and died in the current tax year roll date who didn't receive a social security number. "DIED" prints and the dependent doesn't proforma to the following year in UltraTax CS.
  1. Select the
    General
    folder.
  2. Go to the
    1040
    window, then select
    Dependent information
    .
  3. Enter
    D
    in the
    SSN
    column.
