Turn on masking and password control for SSNs

important
When you turn on masking and password control for Social Security Numbers (SSNs), this turns off all data sharing functionality for clients whose SSNs are hidden. When you enter the password that you define in the following steps, it will reveal the client's SSN, but won't turn on data sharing.
  1. Select
    Setup
    ,
    Security
, and enter or define the master password.
  2. On the
    Security
    tab, mark the
Require a password to display SSNs
    checkbox.
  3. On the
    Modify Password to Display SSNs
window, enter and verify the new password.
    note
The password can't be the same as the master password defined on the
    Modify Master Password
    window.
  4. Select
    OK
    .
  5. Share the password for revealing SSNs with preparers and staff who need it.
