Print custom paragraphs in transmittal letters regarding contributions to IRAs

To print a custom paragraph within the transmittal letter mentioning that contributions can still be made to an IRA account, complete the appropriate set of instructions.

Available custom paragraphs

  • Roth IRA Contributions (TL)
  • Traditional IRA Contributions (TL)

Print custom paragraph for all clients

To print a custom paragraph, when applicable, for all clients:
  1. Within UltraTax CS, choose Setup, 1040 Individual, Federal, Letters & Emails, then Custom Paragraphs.
  2. Mark the custom paragraph you wish to have print for ALL clients, when applicable. To review what the custom paragraph states, highlight the paragraph in question and select
    Open
    .
  3. Now that the custom paragraph is marked to print, verify that its variable is set to print within the transmittal letter, by choosing Setup, 1040 Individual, Federal, Letters & Emails, then Letters and open the 1040 Transmittal Letter.
  4. Locate the variables highlighted below. If these don’t exist, or if you would rather relocate their position, choose Insert, Embedded Content, then Custom Paragraph.

Print custom paragraph for open client

To print a custom paragraph, when applicable, for the OPEN client:
  1. Open your client, and access the
    Letter Screen
    , located under the
    General
     folder.
  2. Select the custom paragraph you wish to include in the transmittal letter. Note that this paragraph will print if it applies to the open client.
