Pay return balance via electronic funds transfer
field on the
IDLetter
screen to print a filing instruction paragraph advising the filer that they'll pay their balance online using the electronic funds transfer (EFT) method and to follow the instructions issued by the state for using EFT.
To use this option, you need to register in advance at https://idahotap.gentax.com/TAP/_/#1. If you select ACH Debit, the client is linked to Idaho’s service provider to begin the enrollment process. If you select ACH credit, you need to fax the completed form to 208.334.7625, or email the scanned form as an attachment to eft@tax.idaho.gov.
The state either faxes or emails their Tax Payment Addenda Record when they set up ACH credit on their end. The client then takes the Tax Payment Addenda Record to their bank and asks for ACH credit setup. ACH Credit takes several days to process, so if your client prefers this method of ACH Debit, allow for extra processing time between the state and the client’s bank. The client will receive instructions on how to make their electronic funds transfer payments if they elect to register for either ACH Debit or Credit. Contact the State Tax Commission at 208.334.7660 in the Boise area, or call 800.972.7660 if you have more questions.
