State | Depreciation conformity |
---|---|
AL | Alabama conforms to federal bonus depreciation for all tax years except 2008. Use the Depreciation (Force) fields on the ALC , ALRent , or ALF-2 screens to force amounts different than the calculated amounts. |
CT | Connecticut doesn't conform to bonus depreciation or section 179 expense for trusts and estates. However, a bonus depreciation adjustment is allowed for corporate beneficiaries. When the beneficiary is a C corporation, UltraTax CS automatically calculates an adjustment and transfers to the CTDepr screen in the Income & Adjustments folder. Adjustments report on Schedule K-1 or the Grantor report. You can make adjustments to the calculated amount in the Force fields on the CTDepr screen. |
DC | The District of Columbia doesn't conform to federal bonus depreciation. The addback on Form D-41 equals the full bonus depreciation amount with no carryover, no further calculation, and no disposition adjustment. It's claimed on the Additions and Subtractions Worksheet, Calculation A, line e. If you're filing Form D-30, the federal Form 4562 is recalculated for DC purposes, and the difference is reported on Form D-30, line 20. |
GA | Georgia doesn't recognize bonus depreciation for fiduciary tax purposes. Georgia adjusts this by reporting the federal amount as an addition, and then uses a recalculated GA Form 4562 to report a subtraction. |
IN | Indiana doesn't comply with federal bonus depreciation/JCWA. Any adjustments for bonus depreciation are reported on Form IT-41, line 2. |
KS | Kansas conforms to federal depreciation rules. No adjustments to Kansas depreciation amounts are needed. |
KY | Kentucky doesn't conform to federal bonus depreciation. Kentucky re-calculates federal Forms 4562, Form 4797, and Form 6252 without bonus depreciation. |
MI | Michigan conforms with federal bonus depreciation, except for MBT returns. The MI asset treatment reflects non-bonus depreciation so that MBT can use the information. |
MS | Mississippi doesn't comply with JCWA or JGTRRA provisions. An adjustment for bonus depreciation is taken on Form 81-110, Page 2, line 17g. There's a disposition worksheet to allow for differences in state/fed gain sale/loss on dispositions. |
MO | Missouri conforms with federal depreciation except for assets purchased between July 1, 2002 and June 30, 2003. For assets purchased during that time, there will be no 168K adjustment for depreciation. Per the state, there's no adjustment entry for the disposition of assets with bonus depreciation. |
ND | North Dakota conforms to federal depreciation rules. You don't need to make adjustment to ND amounts. |
OH | Ohio complies with the Sec 168(k) special depreciation allowances. However, they must add back 2/3, 5/6, or 6/6 of the bonus depreciation claimed for the taxable year. This transfers back to the main form IT 1041, Page 2, line 28 as a depreciation adjustment to income. There's then a deduction taken on line 39 for ½, 1/5, or 1/6 of the depreciation expenses taken for the past 2, 5, or 6 previous years. You can view bonus depreciation differences on the Depreciation Adjustment Worksheet. |
