Minnesota Schedule KPI

Filing Requirements

Text at the beginning of Schedule KPI states “Complete and provide Schedule KPI to each nonresident individual, estate, or trust partner and any Minnesota individual, estate, or trust partner who has adjustments to income.” If the partner is an MN resident and Lines 1 - 3 and 6 - 25 are blank, you are not required to file Schedule KPI. Therefore, UltraTax CS won’t print the schedule and you can't force it to print.

Minnesota source distributive income

According to the Minnesota Schedule KPI instructions, the Minnesota source of distributive income on line 40 includes bonus depreciation and Section 179 adjustments, as well as amounts from Schedule KPI line 38. Steps for calculating this amount can be found in the M3 instructions for Schedule KPI line 40.
