Import shareholder information from Excel

Before shareholder information can be imported from Excel, you'll need to begin with an Excel spreadsheet that was previously exported from UltraTax CS.
The Excel Import lets you import shareholder information from a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet to the UltraTax CS/1120 Shareholder Information window.
  1. Save the Excel spreadsheet to your computer before importing the spreadsheet into UltraTax CS. This ensures all recent changes will be imported.
  2. Open the UltraTax CS client for which you want to import shareholder information from Excel.
  3. Select
    Utilities
    then
    1120 Excel Import
    .
  4. In the
    Look in
field, enter the path to the Excel file location.
  5. Enter the Excel file name in the
    File name
field. The default file name is the same as the client ID.
  6. In the Information group box, select the
    Shareholder Data
    option.
  7. Select
    Import
    .
    note
If any errors occur during the import process, the
    Shareholder Data Import Error Messages
window will list the errors encountered. After reviewing the error messages, select
    Done
, correct the errors, and then re-import the file. Select
    Print
in this window to print a list of the errors that occurred.
