Signature requirements for electronic filing

Wisconsin doesn't have a specific signature form for electronic filing. However, they still require a signature. You'll need to complete and sign the WI Electronic Filing Authorization for Corporations worksheet before you file the return electronically. Enter the signature date on the WIELF screen, or leave blank if it matches the federal date you enter on the federal ELF screen. Don't mail the worksheet. The preparer keeps the original for 3 years. It needs to be available if the State of Wisconsin asks for it.

Resubmitting returns

To make a change to an e-filed return already accepted by the State of Wisconsin, you'll need to amend the return.
If Wisconsin rejects the return, you can make the changes, correct the rejection, and resubmit. If you can retransmit the return electronically, you need to file and have Wisconsin accept it by the return due date or 10 calendar days after you initially received the rejected acknowledgement, whichever is later.
If you can't retransmit the return electronically, you'll need to file on paper by the return due date or 10 calendar days after you initially received the rejected acknowledgment, whichever is later. Include an explanation of why you're filing the return late and a copy of the rejection.

Attachments

If the IRS doesn't support e-filing of the federal return, you can still file the Wisconsin return electronically. UltraTax CS will attach the federal return as a PDF.
Wisconsin lets you attach PDFs to the electronic file. It doesn't have specific naming conventions for the files you attach. UltraTax CS will generate and attach some forms and worksheets as PDFs to the electronic file.

Payment methods

You can make payments by electronic funds withdrawal (direct debit), electronic funds transfer (EFT), check, or credit card. You can make partial payments. If the prior year tax was greater than $1,000, you need to pay electronically.
You need to include bank information and a requested payment date when you request electronic funds withdrawal. Wisconsin will use the bank information you enter on the federal Bank screen. If you have different bank information for Wisconsin, use the WIBank screen in the General folder.
You need to make credit card payments online. To instruct the client to pay by credit card, mark the
Credit card
checkbox on the WIELF screen.
