Configure email notifications for multiple clients

Do the following to configure an email notification for multiple clients at the same time:
  1. Select
    Setup
    then
    Client Communications
    .
  2. For each client, enter the client's email address in the
    Email Address
    field. The information you enter in this field transfers to the
    Email address
    field in the
    Contact
    screen for the client.
    note
    If you want to select only specific clients to receive email notifications, go to step 3. If you want to automatically mark all clients or all clients with email addresses to receive email notifications, skip to step 4.
  3. For each client you want UltraTax CS to send an email notification to, select
    Return
    in the
    Email ELF Ack
    column. Skip to step 9.
  4. Select
    ELF / eSign Options
      to open the
    ELF / eSign Options
    window.
  5. In the
    Automatically assign Email ELF Ack
    group box, select 1 of the following options for when you want clients to receive email notifications:
    • Never
    • Email address entered
    • Always
  6. In the
    Type
    field, select
    Return
    or
    Return / Ext
    from the dropdown.
  7. In the Email settings group box, select 1 of the following options from the
    Address email from
    dropdown:
    • Firm
      - If you select this option, you'll need to enter a valid email address in the
      Firm email address
      field (in the upper-left corner) in the
      Setup
      then
      Client Communications
      window.
    • - If you select this option, you'll need to enter a valid email address in the
      Firm email address
      field (in the upper-left corner) in the
      Setup
      then
      Client Communications
      window.
    • Preparer
      - If you select this option, you'll need to enter a valid email address in the
      Email address
      field in the
      Setup
      ,
      Office Configuration
      , then
      Preparers
      tab for the attached preparer.
    • Reviewer
      - If you select this option, you'll need to enter a valid email address in the
      Email
      field in the
      Setup
      ,
      Office Configuration
      , then
      Reviewers
      tab for the attached reviewer.
    • Staff
      - If you select this option, you'll need to enter a valid email address in the
      Email
      field in the
      Setup
      ,
      Office Configuration
      , then
      Staff
      tab for the attached staff.
    note
    • You can also mark the appropriate checkbox to send a blind copy (bcc) of the email notification to the firm, preparer, reviewer, or staff.
    • The email address for the sender may be
      efileservices.net
      , which is the email domain UltraTax CS uses to send the email notifications.
  8. Select
    OK
    to close the
    ELF / eSign Options
    window and return to the
    Client Communications
    window.
    When you select
    OK
    , UltraTax CS reviews all clients in the
    Client Communications
    window and marks the
    Email ELF Ack
    checkbox, if applicable.
  9. Select
    OK
    to close the
    Client Communications
    window.
    note
    The information you enter in the
    Email ELF Ack
    field transfers to the
    Email notification when electronically filed return is accepted by taxing authority
    field in the
    ELF
    screen.
