Create a report of clients who have logged a specific status event

UltraTax CS includes a number of pre-supplied reports, referred to as Client Listing Reports that contain commonly needed client information such as contact information or the type of returns that were filed for the client. You can filter these reports by the status events logged for the client. This includes both status events automatically logged by UltraTax CS, and custom status events created and logged by the firm. This lets reports be made for clients that meet specific criteria, for example, a list of clients who were sent Web Organizers, or who have had their extension electronically filed and accepted. It's also possible to use multiple status events so that a list of clients that have been sent a Web Organizer, but for whom a Web Organizer was never retrieved, can be produced.
Follow these steps to create a report to identify clients who have logged a particular status event.
  1. In UltraTax CS, select
    Utilities
    , then
    Client Listing Reports
    .
  2. Select the report you want to use. For example, select
    General Client Information
    , then
    Continue
    .
  3. In the
    Select Clients for Report
    window, select
    Modify
    in the Focus area.
  4. Select
    Logged
, then the dropdown in the
    at event
field. Select the + for each event type to expand the list of events of that type. For Custom Status Events created by the firm, expand the
    User-Defined
type. Select an event type, then
    OK
    .
  5. After the event modification is completed:
    • If no clients have had the event logged, the window won't display any clients.
    • If 1 or more clients have had the event logged, the window will display these clients. Use
      Select All
to generate a report for these clients.
  6. Select
    Preview
to view a report based on the selected status event.

Create a report using multiple status events

The following steps use 2 status events to produce a report. You can also create a report with custom status events. For example, if you create custom status events such as
Completed
and
Reviewed
to track the preparation of returns, it's possible to create a report that lists all clients that have been completed, but not reviewed.
  1. In UltraTax CS, select
    Utilities
    , then
    Client Listing Reports
    .
  2. Select the report you want to use. For example, select
    General Client Information
    , then
    Continue
    .
  3. In the
    Select Clients for Report
    window, select
    Modify
    in the Focus area.
  4. Select
    Logged
, then the dropdown in the
    at event
field. Select the + next to
    Organizer Events
    , then
    Organizer Web sent
    .
  5. Select
    Another
, then the dropdown next to
    Logged
    , then
    Not Logged
. Then select the dropdown in the
    at event
    field and select
    Organizer Web retrieved
    . Select
    OK
    .
  6. After the event modification is completed:
    • If no clients have had the event logged, the window won't display any clients.
    • If 1 or more clients have had the event logged, the window will display these clients. Use
      Select All
to generate a report for these clients.
  7. Select
    Preview
to view a report based on the selected status events.
