Enter multiple valid addresses for a single Taxpayer Identification Number

Data sharing uses Taxpayer Identification Numbers (TINs) to differentiate clients and share data. TINs with multiple valid addresses can cause UltraTax to show you unnecessary data sharing prompts.
You can have UltraTax CS designate a TIN as having multiple valid addresses. Then, when you enter this TIN in an input screen, you can choose the valid address to avoid getting prompts about unnecessary updates.
  1. Select
    Setup
    ,
    Office Configuration
    , then the
    Data Sharing
    tab.
  2. Select
    Add
    .
  3. Enter the
    EIN
    or
    SSN
    .
  4. Enter any notes as a
    Comment
    .
  5. Select
    Enter
    .
UltraTax adds the TIN to the list designated as having multiple valid addresses.
When you enter this TIN in an input screen, UltraTax CS will do either of the following:
  • If there's only 1 valid address, it will share that address.
  • If there's more than 1 valid address, it will ask you to choose an address.
