Import statement data from Excel

Import statement data from Excel

Use the Import Spreadsheet functionality in UltraTax CS to import data into statements from a Microsoft Excel workbook stored on your hard drive or in FileCabinet CS, or from the Windows Clipboard. Using this feature, you can maintain client data in a spreadsheet and import it into UltraTax CS for tax preparation without reentering the data. This also lets your clients share spreadsheets with information like stock sales, which you can import without having to reenter the data into UltraTax CS.
You can import spreadsheet data into any statement window in UltraTax CS. The columns in the spreadsheet don’t need to match the columns in the UltraTax CS statement windows exactly (they don’t need to have the same text for the column headings and don’t need to be in the same order). As part of the importing process, you create a spreadsheet mapping by linking the spreadsheet columns with the UltraTax CS statement window column.
note
You can import data into statements from sources other than Excel, but you need to copy the information from the external source to the Windows Clipboard first.
