Set up and use integration with CaseWare Working Papers

Before taking these steps, you'll need to have assigned tax codes.
The following entities are available to integrate with CaseWare Working Papers. There's also a link to the Tax Code Diagram next to each entity.
  1. Create the export file:
  2. In CaseWare, select
    File
    ,
    Export
    , then
    Tax Software
    .
  3. Select
    UltraTax CS
    .
  4. Verify the export path is correct.
  5. Enter the
    Export file name
    .
  6. Select
    OK
    .
  7. Import the file from UltraTax CS:
  8. In UltraTax CS, select
    Utilities
    ,
    Third Party
    , then
    CaseWare Working Papers (Import)
    .
  9. Verify that the data path is correct.
  10. Select the
    Client ID
    then
    Import
    .
  11. When the process is complete, select
    OK
    .
If the
CaseWare Working Papers (Import)
option is not available by going to
Utilities
, then
Third Party
:
  • The license file may be missing:
    • Check if the
      IyCWname.dat
      (where "
      y
      " is the year of the application) license file is located under
      X:\WinCsi\Licenses\UTYY
      (where
      X
      is the drive where the application is installed, and
      YY
      is the year of UltraTax CS)
    • If you're missing this license file, contact Customer Service.
  • Client data can't be imported into this entity. You can only import client data from CaseWare into the 1120, 1065, and 990 entities.
If
CaseWare Working Papers import
doesn't import all amounts, check whether your antivirus application scans the WinCsi directory. If it does, exclude this directory from the scan because it can interfere with the import.
