Set business organizer options

Follow these steps to set options specific to the Business Organizer.
  1. Select
    Setup
    , then
    [Entity]
    .
  2. Select the
    Organizer
    tab.
    note
    • Depending on your security configuration, you might need to enter the master password and select
      OK
      before you can continue.
    • Use the Electronic Organizer feature to send electronic organizers to your clients via email, or give web organizers to your clients via a personalized, private web portal.
    • The
      Other return
      options apply to all Business Organizer clients for each entity.
    • Select
      Setup
      , the entity, then the
      Federal
      tab to set other options for all existing clients or new clients.
    • For clients with data converted from another tax application, options set in the New client options section apply the 1st time you open the client in UltraTax CS.
  3. Make selections for the following options:
    • Organizer delivery method (OrgOptns screen)
      : The method you select displays in the client's Organizer Delivery column in
      Setup
      ,
      Client Communications
      .
    • Organizer presentation
      (1120 only): The spreadsheet is an Excel file created by the application when emailing the Business Organizer to your client, or sending the Business Organizer to your client through NetClient CS. The
      Questionnaire and Spreadsheet
      option is selected by default. Select
      Questionnaire only
      to deliver the 1120 default questionnaire without the spreadsheet.
      note
      All clients subsequently created will inherit this setting. For existing 1120 organizer clients, open the client's return and go to the OrgOptns screen in the Organizer folder. Select
      1 Questionnaire only
      in the
      Organizer presentation
      field.
    • Spreadsheet Options
      (1120 only): Select to change the display conditions of the tabs included in the 1120 Excel spreadsheet.
    • Include detail in Organizer (OrgOptns screen)
      (1065, 1041, and 990 only): As part of the Business Organizer, the application generates an Excel spreadsheet for entity-specific information. Clear checkboxes to exclude specific information from the spreadsheet. If none of the checkboxes are marked, the application won't generate the Excel spreadsheet.
    • Print Engagement Letter
      (1120, 1041, and 990 only): The engagement letter prints for 1065 organizers by default.
    • Proforma custom Questionnaire and Cover Letter selections (Screen OrgOptns)
      : UltraTax CS automatically proformas the
      Custom Organizer Cover Letter number
      and the
      Custom Organizer Questionnaire number
      fields in the OrgOptns screen. If you prefer not to proforma the custom cover letter number and the custom questionnaire number, clear this field before proforma processing.
    • Due date to return completed Organizer
      : UltraTax CS includes this date on the Business Organizer Cover Letter if you select the
      Organizer due date custom paragraph
      for the client.
      note
      To enter a date on a client-by-client basis, or to override the date entered here for a client, enter a date in the
      Due date to return completed Organizer
      field in the OrgOptns screen located in the Organizer folder.
    • Include Cover Letter text in the greeting
      : If you don't mark this checkbox, the greeting includes only the information necessary for the client to sign in to their Web Business Organizer in NetClient CS. The NetClient CS portal includes a document that includes all cover letter text, similar to paper Business Organizers.
    • Allow the client to mark the Web Organizer "Send to Preparer" only once and prevent further changes
      : Mark this checkbox to prevent clients from submitting multiple versions of the same Web Business Organizer by letting clients select
      Send to Preparer
      only once. You can submit any subsequent changes to the Business Organizer directly to your office, rather than resubmit it in a subsequent Web Business Organizer.
    • Letters & Emails
      : In the Letters tab, you can add up to 5 new cover letters, or edit the cover letters given with this application. In the
      Email
      tab, you can change the default electronic email and NetClient CS Organizer greetings.
    • Questionnaire
      : Add new organizer questionnaires or change the default questionnaires included with UltraTax CS Business Organizer.
    • Consent
      : Enter information for preparing the Organizer Consent Letter. The information entered in the Consent window is used globally for all Business Organizers, so you don't have to enter this information on a client-by-client basis.
    • Slipsheets
      : Edit the slipsheets provided with the application.
    • Organizer
      : Change the default print collations for the Business Organizer package.
  4. Select
    OK
    to close the Organizer tab.
