Insert preparer signature image into the client document

You can insert signature images into client documents. Client documents include transmittal letters, individual engagement letters, filing instructions, and slipsheets.
Follow these steps to insert a preparer signature into a client document.
  1. Open the client document by selecting
    Setup
    , then
    1040 Individual
    (or other entity). In the
    Product Information
    window, select the
    Letters & Emails
    button. Select the document you want to edit and then select
    Open
    .
  2. In the letter, place your cursor in the location you want to insert the preparer signature image.
  3. Select
    Insert
    , then
    Image
    . Go to the location on your network where the image is stored. If the image isn't a bitmap (.bmp) file, change the
    Files of type:
    field to
    All image types
    .
  4. Select the image file and then the
    Select
    button.
  5. The signature image will be inserted into the document and will appear as a variable.
  6. Highlight the signature image variable and select
    Format
    , then
    Print If
    .
  7. In the
    Print If
    window, select the
    Preparer
    option and select the preparer that corresponds to the signature image. Select
    OK
    .
  8. Repeat steps 3-7 for additional preparers.
  9. Select
    Document
    , then
    Save
    to save the changes. Select
    Document
    , then
    Exit
    .
When you print or preview client documents, the preparer signature image displays the signature of the preparer you selected.
