Azure Virtual Desktop apps don't launch

If you receive an error or don't receive the pop-up notification to allow your apps to open using Azure Virtual Desktop, try the steps listed here.
  • Single-click the application icon to launch it, don't double-click.
  • Make sure you are using the correct Thomson Reuters Account email and password if you have multiple accounts.
  • Make sure all pop-up blockers are disabled.
  • Clear cache and cookies.
  • Refresh the page or close and reopen the browser completely.
  • Right-click the application icon and open it in another tab.
  • Check that you have the latest version of Azure Virtual Desktop Client:
    1. Open
      Applications
      and select
      Setup
      .
    2. Select
      Downloads
      then
      Azure Virtual Desktop Installer
      .
    3. Reinstall the file then try to open your application again.

Download the AVD client files from Microsoft

The following steps are recommended if the AVD installation encountered a problem in your computer which results in a blank page when you attempt to launch a
Virtual Office CS or SaaS
application. This might also result in having no browser pop-up or prompt to use AVD, or you cannot launch VO Microsoft Word or VO Microsoft Excel.
  1. Download the AVD files from Microsoft at this link: AVD installation file.
  2. Find and run the file on your computer.
  3. If you previously installed AVD, you will be given the options to
    Change
    ,
    Repair
    , or
    Remove
    . Choose
    Remove
    .
  4. After the Remove process finishes, run the AVD installation file again to reinstall.
  5. In the Installation Scope, select
    Install for all users of this machine
    .
  6. Select
    Install
    .
  7. Once installation is complete, go back to
    NetStaff CS
    and then launch your application again.

Microsoft Edge users

If nothing happens when you try to launch an application and you're using Microsoft Edge, try the following steps:
  1. In the Edge address bar, paste this and press
    Enter
    :
    edge://settings/content/applicationLinks
    .
  2. Enable
    Automatically block or allow apps based on a list from Microsoft
    .
  3. If there are sites listed on the screen marked and saved with
    Always Allow
    , remove them.
  4. Go back to the address bar, then paste this and press
    Enter
    :
    edge://settings/siteData
    .
  5. Select
    Remove All
    to delete all cookies and site data.
  6. Close all instances of Microsoft Edge then reopen and sign in to
    NetStaff CS
    .
  7. Launch an application and make sure you receive a notification that says:
    This site is trying to open Microsoft Remote Connection Center
  8. Mark the
    Always allow secure.netlinksolution.com to open links of this type in the associated app
    checkbox and select
    Open
    .
