Run a PeopleMap report

Westlaw PeopleMap is a public records search tool that can help you with client intake, litigation, and asset location.
Access to PeopleMap is included in select subscriptions plans. If you don't have access to it, contact your account representative. If you need assistance with contacting your account representative, call 1-800-328-4880.
  1. On the Westlaw homepage, select
    Public Records
    .
  2. Make sure that
    PeopleMap
    is selected in the
    Go To Results For
    section.
  3. In the People Information, Business Information, or Location Information section, enter identifying information for your search.
    Tip:
    Enter less identifying information to get more results.
  4. Select
    Search
    .
    The Permissible Use window will open.
  5. Choose which permissible uses you want to include. You can also use the checkboxes to set your choices as defaults for future reports.
  6. Select
    Save
    .
  7. Complete the two-factor authentication process.
  8. Use the Narrow section and the
    Sort by
    field to find the person you're looking for.
  9. Find your person of interest and select
    Create Report
    .

Review your PeopleMap report

Once you’ve created a PeopleMap report, Westlaw
Edge
gives you several tools to help you review it.
You can:
  • View a part of the report by selecting its link in the Included tab.
  • Select a record in the Source column to open the full text record.
  • Exclude sections of the report by selecting the
    x
    . If you want to review these sections later, you can find them in the Excluded tab.
  • Save or send a copy of the report.
