Report Designer toolbars

The Report Designer includes standard and formatting toolbars that provide quick access to commonly used tasks and formatting options.

new icon
Opens a new report in the design grid.
open icon
Opens the report that is currently selected in the Reports list frame.
save icon
Saves any changes you have made to the selected report.
print icon
Opens the Print Options dialog, where you can specify options for printing the selected report.
print preview icon
Opens the Print Options dialog, where you can specify options for previewing the selected report.
undo icon
Reverts the last change made in the design grid to its previous state.
redo icon
Reapplies the last action that was undone in the design grid.
spell check icon
Checks the spelling of the contents in the selected report.
cut icon
Cuts the selected items from the design grid and places them in the clipboard. (Press CTRL+X to perform the same action.)
copy icon
Copies the selected items from the design grid and places them in the clipboard. (Press CTRL+C to perform the same action.)
paste icon
Pastes the selected items from the clipboard into the designated location in design grid. (Press CTRL+V to perform the same action.)
delete icon
Deletes the selected items from the design grid. (Press the DELETE key to perform the same action.)
search field
Opens a list of search results from the Help & How-To Center in your browser when you enter a search term and press ENTER.
help icon
Opens the main help topic for the Report Designer in the Help & How-To Center. Select the arrow next to the button to view a list of links to relevant Report Designer help articles.

font and font size button
Displays the font and font size for the items selected in the design grid. Select the arrow next to the buttons to select a different font and/or font size.
bold icon
Toggles bolding on or off for the text items selected in the design grid.
italic icon
Toggles italics on or off for the text items selected in the design grid.
underline icon
Toggles regular text underline on or off for the text items selected in the design grid.
account underline icon
Toggles single accounting underlines on or off for items selected in the design grid.
double account underline icon
Toggles double accounting underlines on and off for items selected in the design grid.
font color icon
Applies the selected color to the text selected in the design grid. Select the arrow next to the button to select a different font color.
left align icon
Left justifies the contents of the selected cells.
center align icon
Center justifies the contents of the selected cells.
right align icon
Right justifies the contents of the selected cells.
merge center icon
Merges the selected cells into a single cell and centers the text in the new, merged cell.
decrease indent icon
Decreases the indent for the contents of the selected cells.
increase indent icon
Increases the indent for the contents of the selected cells.
float dollar sign icon
Applies the default currency style formatting (two decimal places, fixed dollar sign, and comma 1000 separator) to the contents of the selected cells.
percentage icon
Applies the default percent style formatting (two decimal places and fixed percent sign) to the contents of the selected cells.
comma icon
Applies the default comma style formatting (1000 separator) to the contents of the selected cells.
increased decimal icon
Moves the decimal point one place to the left for the selected amount.
decreased decimal icon
Moves the decimal point one place to the right for the selected amount.
fill color icon
Fills the background of the selected cell with the selected color. Select the arrow next to the button to select a different color from the color selection grid.
gridlines icon
Adds cell borders to the cells selected in the design grid.
