Client templates

You can use client templates to add new client records, set up common firm-level policies, and provide a time-saving mechanism across clients that are in similar industries. Client templates are automatically installed with new installations of Accounting CS, version 2013.1.0 or higher. If you already have a prior version of the application installed, do the following to download and restore the client templates.

The following sample client templates are available in the application.

  • Architecture Template (ACSARC01)
  • Construction Template (ACSCON01)
  • Consulting Template (ACSCON02)
  • Legal Template (ACSLEG01)
  • Medical Template (ACSMED01)
  • Nonprofit Template (ACSNON01)
  • Partnership Template (ACSPAR01)
  • Payroll Template (ACSPAY01)
  • Restaurant Template (ACSRES01)
  • Retail Template (ACSRET01)
  • S Corporation Template (ACSSCO01)
  • Service Business Template (ACSSER01)
  • Sole Proprietor Template (ACSSOL01)

Download and restore the client templates

  1. Go to cs.thomsonreuters.com/support/downloads/ (you may be required to sign in).
  2. Select
    Accounting CS Template Clients.zip
    in the Client Templates section of the My Product Downloads page to download the ZIP file to your local drive.
  3. When the download is complete, extract the files from the ZIP file and copy them into
    X:\WINCSI\Accounting CS Data\Backup
    , (where X: is the drive location where Accounting CS Shared Files are installed).
  4. In the application, select
    File
    then
    Client Data Management Utility
    .
  5. Select
    Restore
    from the dropdown in the
    Action
    field.
  6. Mark the checkbox next to the client template to restore, then select
    Restore Selected
    .
  7. Repeat the previous step if you need to restore another template.
