Set up a client with a 4-4-5 accounting period

Some clients operate on a calendar year that's divided into 13-week quarters. In each quarter, 2 of the months (or periods) have 4 weeks, and the other month has 5 weeks (4-4-5 or 4-5-4 or 5-4-4). To set up a client with this type of processing cycle (for this article, we'll refer to it as 4-4-5), we recommend that you set up the client as a weekly client but process it as if it were a monthly client.
Do the following to set up a client with a  4-4-5 accounting period:
  1. Select
    Setup
    then
    Clients
    .
  2. Add a new client or select an existing client.
  3. On the Accounting Information tab, select
    Weekly
    in the
    Period frequency
    field.
  4. Verify that the
    Current fiscal year end date
    is correct, and then save the client record.
  5. Select
    Edit
    to edit the client record.
  6. Select
    Edit Dates
    and review the period end dates.
  7. If you need to add a week:
    1. Select the column where you want to add a week.
    2. Select
      Add Week
      .
  8. After you've verified the period end dates are correct, save the client record.
