General rules

Before you can add accounts to a client's Chart of Accounts, you'll need to set up the mask by using the following rules:
  • The account mask needs to be between 3 and 60 characters.
    • The default mask for new clients is
      XXXXXXXXXX
      (10 Xs).
  • Only the following characters may be used in the mask:
    Available characters
    Symbol
    Character
    A
    Alpha characters only
    #
    Numeric characters only
    X
    Any character, separator, or space
  • The account mask can have up to 20 segments and each segment can have an unlimited number of codes.
    • All characters in a segment must be the same. (For example, AAA or ####.)
  • For segments consisting of X or # characters, if you don't enter all of the characters in the segment, the application fills in the rest of that segment with zeroes.
    • You'll need to enter all characters in the segment for those consisting of A characters.
  • You can only use the predefined separators in the dropdown for the mask.
    • An account number cannot end with a separator.
