Troubleshoot scanning

Review the following for some information about resolving problems with scanning documents into the Workpapers Dashboard.

Reboot everything

  1. Turn off the scanner.
  2. Reboot your computer.
  3. Turn the scanner back on.
  4. Try to scan your document again.

Update applications

  • Download updates in Accounting CS and/or Workpapers CS.
  • Visit your scanner manufacturer's website and update your scanner drivers.
  • Ask your IT professional to remove old scanner drivers from either the Device Manager or
    C:\Windows\twain_32 directory
    .

Switch scanner drivers

  • If you're using a TWAIN driver, try using the WIA driver (if available).
  • If you're using a WIA driver, try using the TWAIN driver.
  • Try scanning the document into Engagement CS, FileCabinet CS, or a non-CS Professional Suite application. If it works, there may be an issue with Accounting CS and/or Workpapers CS. If it does not work, the problem lies somewhere in your scanner software.

Check DPI setting for small documents

If you're scanning a document that is smaller than the standard letter size paper, be certain you are using the 400 DPI setting.

Check advanced Fujitsu scanner settings

If you are using a Fujitsu scanner and the Advanced settings are set to
Automatic
in the Page options, scanning will freeze. Instead, change this to
End of page
detection option to prevent any application freezing.

Check antivirus settings for Virtual Office or Saas (Software as a Service)

If you are on Virtual Office or SaaS, make sure you have set up proper antivirus exceptions for your scanner and the Citrix client.
