Open a FileOpen secured file in iOS

The FileOpen Viewer app enables a user to share files securely with other users accessing Collaborate on iPads and iPhones. It also provides the same set of access controls such as instant revocation, expiration and watermarking.
The FileOpen app operates in essentially the same way as the FileOpen plug-in for Acrobat/Reader. One of the two Digital Rights Management options available on the Collaborate platform, authenticating each open and print command with the Collaborate server. When permission is granted, the FileOpen Viewer displays the file, which can then be used according to the permissions set by the site administrator

Using the viewer on an iOS device

  • Download and install the
    FileOpen Viewer
     app from the App Store.
  • Browse to a site that contains FileOpen secured files, select a file and tab the
    Download
     icon, or navigate to
    More actions
     >
    Download

  • The file will open in a new tab, but will not be displayed, as the file is encrypted. Tap the
    Share via
     button and select
    Copy to FileOpen

  • The FileOpen app will open and the following screen will be displayed:
  • Enter your collaborate login details and once authenticated, the file will decrypt and be viewable in the FileOpen application
