Connect your client’s exchanges & wallets to CoinTracker.
To add exchanges & wallets, visit the
Add Wallets page. When you select the exchange or wallet from the Wallet Type dropdown, you'll see instructions on how to connect that particular exchange or wallet with CoinTracker. Depending on the exchange or wallet selected, you can import transactions through an API or by a CSV file.
If the exchange or wallet isn’t appearing on the dropdown, this means CoinTracker doesn’t have a direct integration yet. You can still
import your clients’ transaction history. We highly recommend importing all transactions, even from exchanges and wallets without direct integrations.
If you are connecting exchanges or wallets on behalf of your clients, you will have to request API keys and CSV files from your clients.
To ensure the accuracy of tax reports, it's very important to connect all exchanges and wallets your client transacts in a given year.
Review transactions.
After connecting exchanges & wallets, it's best to double-check that everything looks as accurate as possible. CoinTracker will flag any transactions that need extra review and the reasoning. You can see transactions needing review for the tax year on the CoinTracker
tax page.
Upload documents to a client’s TaxCaddy account or directly to the binder.
You or your client can upload documents to a client's profile in TaxCaddy.
Upload documents to a client's binder from FileRoom or TaxCaddy.

What documents does CoinTracker generate?
Depending on the transaction type, CoinTracker generates Form 8949, Schedule D, and Schedule 1.
Once you address all transactions needing review, select the
Download to TaxCaddy
icon in the
Tax filing software
section of the Tax center to download your clients’ 8949 and schedule 1 report and upload to your tax software.
Upload the tax documents to TaxCaddy. Go to your client’s profile and select
Documents
, then
Uploaded Documents
, and drag and drop the tax documents in the upload section.
I am new to crypto. How can I learn more?
I have more questions. How can I contact CoinTracker?
Within your tax professional CoinTracker dashboard, you can contact the tax pro email support alias
A client is interested in creating a CoinTracker account but doesn't see their wallet type offered. Does CoinTracker update their catalog of available exchanges and wallets?
Any institution currently not available now may be added in the future. CoinTracker is constantly working to expand their available wallets and exchanges to meet the needs of your clients.
In the meantime, your clients have the ability to import a CSV file containing their transactions manually until their wallets and exchanges of choice are supported.
Will you alert clients of any problematic transactions in their accounts before uploading to TaxCaddy?
After connecting their wallets to CoinTracker, clients are alerted of and can review any errors CoinTracker has with these wallets before downloading their forms and documents. After correcting these errors, they can proceed to the generation and emailing of their forms and documents to upload to their TaxCaddy accounts.
Is there a way to view a client's activities in CoinTracker?
Yes, tax professionals can send invitations to their clients in CoinTracker to monitor any activity within their accounts. Additionally, to alleviate the responsibility solely on their tax professional, your clients can also send their tax professional invitations to initiate the connection process.
