Use repeating elements in reports or statements

Use repeating elements to create dynamic, data-rich reports that automatically adjust to your information.
Repeating elements include text, amounts, variables, formulas, and functions.
You can use repeating elements to:
  1. Group related information together.
  2. Create nested levels of repeating data.
  3. Make information repeat across columns.

Group repeating elements

Group related data together in a specific area of your report using repeating levels. The system repeats data defined by variables until no more data is available. You'll see a vertical bracket in the left margin of the design grid marking a repeating level.
To create a repeating level:
  1. Highlight the rows you want to repeat n the design grid.
  2. Right-click and select
    Group into Repeating Level
    .
  3. A bracket will appear, showing the grouped area.
tip
  • You can create multiple repeating level groups at the same level or nest them to create layered levels. Nested levels are numbered at the beginning of the margin as you add them. For example, you might have client names in 1 level and their locations nested in the next level.
  • Each group should contain similar data (for example, all sales accounts together).

Create unique repeating regions

Separate unique repeating regions with hidden rows in the design grid. This ensures each account classification/subcode combination stays together and processes in order.

Repeat information across columns

  1. Find the Cell Properties section in the Design Tools frame.
  2. Mark the
    Repeat right
checkbox for each cell you want to repeat horizontally.

Prevent page breaks

Mark the
Do not page break within groups
checkbox in the Design Tools frame to keep data groups together when printing.
