Remove segments from an account

To remove the segments for a single or multiple accounts in the application, you'll need to merge the account into another one, edit the account mask, then remove the account segment.
We recommend that you back up your client before completing these steps.
  1. Merge Accounts
  2. From the
    Chart of Accounts
    or
    Enter Trial Balance
    screen, select
    Edit
    , then
    Edit Multiple Accounts
    .
  3. On the popup window, select
    Merge accounts
    from the
    Information to edit
    dropdown.
  4. Select
    Enter
    .
  5. On the
    Merge Account Numbers
    screen, go to the Identification section and select
    Merge accounts into existing accounts
    .
  6. Specify the accounts to merge. For each segmented account you want to edit, go to the Merge Into column and select the core account or another existing account you want to merge it into.
    note
    Merging accounts will consolidate balances and transactions into the selected account.
  7. Optional.
    If you want to delete the original account after merging, mark the checkbox in the Delete column.
  8. Review your selections, then select
    Enter
    to finalize the merge.
  9. Edit the Chart of Accounts mask
  10. Select
    Setup
    ,
    Clients
    , then the
    Account Mask
    tab.
  11. Select the row that contains the segment you want to delete.
  12. Select
    Delete
    to remove it from the account mask.
  13. Select
    Enter
    to finalize your changes.
  14. Remove the account segment
  15. Select
    Setup
    then
    Account Segments
    .
  16. Select the row that contains the segment you need.
  17. Select
    Delete
    to remove it, or mark the
    Inactive
    checkbox to make it inactive.
  18. Select
    Enter
    to finalize your changes.
