Add GoSystem Tax RS as a vendor in AdvanceFlow engagements

You can import AdvanceFlow trial balances into GoSystem Tax RS. Before you can do that, you'll have to add it as a vendor in AdvanceFlow. Follow these steps to get started.

Select

Setup
, then Firm Settings
.

Under Tax Information, mark the GoSystem Tax RS
checkbox, then select Save
.

Return to the

Engagement dashboard

and select the name of an engagement to view it.

If the engagement is not on your

Engagement dashboard

, use Open engagements
to add it.

Select the Properties
tab from the navigation pane.

Under Tax information, select GoSystem Tax RS
from the Vendor
dropdown list.

When you select GoSystem Tax RS
as the Vendor
, the Entity
dropdown list will include all of the supported entity types you're able to import in GoSystem Tax RS.

Select Save
.

Import AdvanceFlow trial balances in GoSystem Tax RS 2020 and later

Before you import your AdvanceFlow balances, make sure GoSystem Tax is selected as a vendor for your engagement.

tip

All entity types that GoSystem Tax RS supports for import from AdvanceFlow are listed in the Entity
dropdown of the Engagement Properties screen.

If you use GoSystem Tax subcodes, they should be three numeric digits in length. GoSystem Tax will fill in zeros until the subcode is three digits long, but also considers subcodes "1" and "01" to be different subcodes (even though they both end up as "001").

As a licensed user of GoSystem Tax RS, you can transfer your account balances, tax code information, and journal entries from AdvanceFlow.

Select the Returns tab and choose the return you want to import balances for.

Do not open the locator yet.

Select Trial Balance
, then AdvanceFlow
.

Choose the items you want to import. Options include:

Prior Year

Tax Return Codes

Property Codes

Suppress RE Ending Balances

Current Year Balances MRC Codes

Import balance as Adjusted Balance or Tax Balance

Select your client from the client filter.

Select an engagement for your client.

Wait until GoSystem Tax RS notifies you that the import is complete.

Select Done
.

Review your import in the Trial balance window. You can select Update Organizer
, then Compute
to populate your locator.

Import AdvanceFlow trial balances in GoSystem Tax RS 2019 and earlier

Before you import your AdvanceFlow balances, make sure GoSystem Tax is selected as a vendor for your engagement.

dropdown of the Engagement Properties screen.

As a licensed user of GoSystem Tax RS, you can transfer your account balances, tax code information, and journal entries from AdvanceFlow.

Open the tax return/locator in GoSystem Tax RS, then select File
.

Select Import
, then AdvanceFlow
.

Enter your AdvanceFlow sign in information and select OK
.

Select the client you want to import, then Next
.

Select Finish
when you've completed the import.
