AdvanceFlow to UltraTax CS integration

What is AdvanceFlow

  • Web-based engagement management that allows a team to work together no matter where they are located.
  • Leverages GoFileRoom document management system to organize and store documents.
  • Powerful trial balance capabilities that can handle simple or sophisticated account data, including consolidations or fund clients.
  • Extensive integration with PPC products (SMART Practice Aids, Checkpoint Online, Checkpoint Tools and Checkpoint Engage), GoSystem Tax, and UltraTax CS.

Access AdvanceFlow

Since AdvanceFlow is web-based, there is not one single program installation. There are multiple components that must be installed and configured properly.
To access a client engagement (including trial balance data related to integration calls) within AdvanceFlow, go to www.advanceflow.com from Google Chrome.
To have full functionality in AdvanceFlow, including the ability to edit workpapers, you would need to complete the following steps.
  • Complete the GoFileRoom setup checklist and AdvanceFlow setup checklist.
    • Both checklists contain several settings to complete on the PC.
    • Many of these settings can be implemented via Group Policy.
  • Install the GoFileRoom Client Add-in.
  • Install the AdvanceFlow Add-in.
  • Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat are required to edit their respective documents in AdvanceFlow.

Understand how tax codes work in AdvanceFlow

Users may assign tax codes to accounts in the trial balance of AdvanceFlow individually. More commonly, firms will utilize AdvanceFlow account mapping, which is similar to mapping in Accounting CS and Workpapers CS. The system level Account Group titled Account Classifications has codes/subcodes which, when assigned to an account within a trial balance, will map out account types, tax codes, and other account groupings.
An engagement has been labeled as an 1120C that will utilize UltraTax CS. The General Checking Cash account would be assigned the Account Classification code of Current Assets and subcode of Cash & Equivalents. Once assigned, this account will be mapped as an Asset, assigned a Leadsheet code of A for Cash, and given the tax code 400. If the same engagement was labeled as an 1120C that will utilize GoSystem Tax, the account would be assigned tax code 100.00.
