Unlock or reactivate a user's account

You'll need to be a GoFileRoom administrator to unlock or reactivate a user's password.
You'll need to reset a user's password:
  • When they have entered the wrong sign-in credentials more times than allowed by the firm's settings and their account is locked.
  • When you want to re-enable their account after it has been disabled by an administrator.
important
If you reset the password for an owner or authorized user of a restricted drawer, the user's access to the restricted drawer will be removed and need to be added again by the owner.
  1. Select
    Administration
    , then
    Manage Users & Groups
    .
  2. On the
    Users
    tab, clear the
    Active
    checkbox next to the
    Select User
    dropdown.
  3. This will change your dropdown list to any users who have been locked out or deactivated. Select the user you want to unlock or reactivate.
  4. Clear the
    Disable User/Comments
    checkbox.
  5. Enter a new password that meets the password requirements for
    GoFileRoom
    and verify it
    .
  6. Select
    Save
    .
The user will be able to use the reset temporary password to sign in, but must then set a new password of their own.
tip
  • You might want to develop a convention with with the other administrators so that every temporary password set for users has the same structure. For example,
    @Pass[
    mm/dd
    ][
    userinitials
    ]
    .
  • As an administrator, you can also reset passwords for all users in
    GoFileRoom
and manage the global password settings for all
    GoFileRoo
    m users.
