Organize tax workpapers with SurePrep

If your firm is licensed for SurePrep products, staff members can use SurePrep integration features to process, organize, and prepare tax workpapers within assigned workflow steps.
  1. When you index or re-index your GoFileRoom documents select
    SurePrep Source Documents
    for
    Document Type
    .
    • The workpapers will be automatically sent to SurePrep for OCR processing and organization.
    • The workflow will stay in the SurePrep step until processing is complete.
    • When processing is complete, the workflow will go to the Preparation step.
    • The SurePrep button will change from the greyscale SurePrep logo to the color logo.
    • Next to the SurePrep button you'll find one of several statuses, which also correspond to statuses you see in SurePrep.

      Error in Submission
      Displays if there are errors in the submission. The owner will receive an email outlining the error. Correct the error, then select the SurePrep button to resubmit.

      In (SP) Processing
      Displays after the binder is created (Create Engagement status) and is now in SurePrep processing.

      Open SPbinder
      Displays after all the Review Wizard steps are completed and you can now open the binder. (Outsource only: Displays after the return is verified, prepared, reviewed, and submitted back to the GFR dashboard by SurePrep.)

      New Documents available
      Displays when new documents can be added to the binder.

  2. After you receive a notification that the SurePrep process is complete, you can prepare the workpapers in SurePrep and print them to GoFileRoom. There, you can open the workpapers as PDFs for the rest of the workflow's steps.
