Substantive Law Selections

When a user creates a new matter, the matter must be assigned an area of substantive law. The standard list of substantive law types is provided by Tracker. Users can activate or deactivate a substantive law type, but only Legal Tracker Support can add a type.
Default Substantive Law Selections
The following substantive law selections are available by default:

Deactivating Substantive Law Selections
If you have customized your substantive law list and your company decides not to use a particular substantive law type, you can deactivate it so that users will not see it so that users will not see it in the list of available substantive law selections.
To deactivate a substantive law type:
  1. Select
    Settings
    in the left navigation.
  2. Under
    Matters Setup
    , click
    Substantive Law
    .
  3. Click the name of the substantive law selection you want to deactivate.(If you are unable to click the name of a substantive law selection that you want to work with, contact Tracker Support.) The
    Edit Substantive Law
    page opens.
  4. Click the
    Active
    check box to clear it.
  5. On the toolbar, select
    Save & close
    .

Viewing Deactivated Substantive Law Selections

  1. Select
    Settings
    in the left navigation.
  2. Under
    Matters Setup
    , click
    Substantive Law
    . By default, only active substantive law selections are shown.
  3. To also display inactive areas of substantive law, click
    Both active/inactive
    , and then click
    Change View
    .
