Consolidated Billing Matters

Clients can create consolidated billing matters, which are umbrella matters containing multiple related matters. For example, a company might create one consolidated billing matter to manage international intellectual property portfolios. You would then associate all of your related matters, including your internal client and matter numbers, as well as your internal matter name and country designations, to the matter.

Identify consolidated billing matters

Your client should send you an email or communicate to you that they have created a consolidated billing matter and inform you of the type of matters that you should associate with it. You can find consolidated billing matters from the Matter #s or Post invoices tabs on the Invoices page.

Enter required information for consolidated billing matters

You are required to enter your firm client and matter number as well as a matter name and location of legal work for each individual matter associated with a consolidated billing matter. You will not be able to post invoices to the consolidated billing matter until this information is entered.
