Generate MFA emergency access codes

Generating MFA emergency access codes can be useful if one day you forget or lose your MFA enabled smart device and need to sign in to your portal.
  1. Sign in to myPay Solutions, then select your name.
  2. Select Manage
    Multi-factor Authentication
    from the dropdown menu.
  3. Select
    Generate New Codes
to create a new batch of emergency access codes. This will replace any codes that you generated before.
The MFA emergency access codes will display in a new screen.
  4. Store the emergency access codes in a locked safe or another safe location. You can use each code only once to enable a user to sign in without their MFA device present.
Options if you lose or forget your MFA linked smart device:
  • Use your list of MFA emergency access codes to access your portal without your smart device. On the sign-in screen, enter your username and password, then select
    Enter a code
    .
  • If you don't have a list of MFA emergency access codes, contact your Payroll Specialist to ask for a temporary, 24-hour access code.
    note
Asking for a one-time MFA access code will require your Payroll Specialist to initiate a call to you directly to go through some extra verification steps.
note
Internal use only
When a client doesn't have their MFA smart device available to sign in to their portal, you can generate a temporary, 24-hour numerical code to enable the user to sign in.
To give a user with their temporary, 24-hour MFA code, you'll need to confirm their identity by calling them back on the firm’s phone number and verifying the FIRM ID, FEIN ID, and the RA’S information.
Once their identity is verified, to generate a code, follow these steps:
  1. Sign in to your NetStaff CS account.
  2. Select the
    Admin
    tab.
  3. Select the
    Users
link in the NetClient CS section to generate a code for a client.
  4. Select the user.
  5. In the Identification section, select
    View Settings
    .
  6. Select the link to generate a temporary, 24-hour numerical code.
  7. Give the code to the user. They'll enter the code using the
    Enter a code
link on the application sign-in screen.
