Error: Practice CS crashes after CS Professional Suite sign in screen

Scenario

A local installation of Practice CS may crash when you have Windows 10 and Microsoft Outlook 2016.

Solution 1: update Practice CS

  1. Open
    CS Connect
    and select
    Connect Now
    .
  2. Mark the
    Retrieve available updates
    checkbox and select
    Call Now
    .
  3. Choose
    Apply previously downloaded updates/licenses
    .
  4. Select
    Apply Now
    to install the updates.

Solution 2: run Practice CS as administrator

  1. Right-click the Practice CS desktop icon and choose
    Properties
    .
  2. Open the Compatibility tab and mark
    Run this program as an administrator
    .
  3. Select
    Apply
    , then
    OK
    .
  4. Open Practice CS. If it crashes, continue to the next solution.

Solution 3: disable the Microsoft Outlook interface

  1. Open your Start menu and search for the
    Run
    app.
  2. Open
    Run
    and paste
    C:\ProgramData\Creative Solutions\Practice CS
    in the
    Open
    field.
  3. Select
    OK
    .
  4. Right-click the
    LocalInstallation.ini
    file, select
    Open with
    , and choose
    Notepad
  5. In the notepad file, add a new line in the
    [appSettings]
    section and paste this code in the empty line:
    outlookdisable=true
    .
  6. Select
    File
    , then
    Save
    .
  7. Open Practice CS.
    1. If it crashes, continue to the next solution.
    2. If it doesn't crash, repeat Solution 1. Then repeat Solutions 2 and 3 to clear
      Run this program as an administrator
      and delete the added Outlook code. 

Solution 4: repair Microsoft Outlook 2016
