Delete a project template

When you've finished a particular type of work or you create 1 or more project templates that replace an existing template, you might want to delete the original template.
When you attempt to delete a project template, you might get a message that the project template cannot be deleted because it is associated with historical data. In order to delete a project template, you must delete all references to it in the database.
The most common references will be projects created using the project template. To remove all projects created from the template:
  1. Select
    Actions
    , then
    Manage Projects
    .
  2. Use the filter to find the project template to delete: Project Template ID | is | <template ID>.
  3. Clear the
    Open Projects only
checkbox so that completed projects for this template will show as well.
  4. Select all the projects on the screen.
  5. Right-click anywhere on the screen and select
    Delete Selected Projects
    .
  6. Select
    Setup
    ,
    Templates
    , then
    Projects
    .
  7. Select the project template, then
    Delete
    .
  8. If you still can't delete the template, check all screen and report filters where the project may be referenced and delete the reference.
