Set up default invoice reference numbers

Default reference numbers can use any combination of the following fields (along with optional separators).
  • Invoice Number
  • Associate ID
  • Due Date
  • Firm Year End Date
  • Invoice Count
  • Invoice Date
  • Invoice Office ID
  • Partner ID
  • Period End Date
  • Text
  • Today’s Date
  1. On the Firm setup screen, select the
    Billing and A/R
    tab .
  2. Mark the
    Enable default invoice reference number
    checkbox.
  3. Select
    More
    More button with ellipsis icon..
  4. Select a field from the dropdown list in the next available row.
    1. For the
      Date
      fields, choose a date format.
    2. Enter text in the
      Text
      field.
    3. Use the
      Invoice Count
      checkboxes.
  5. To add another field, repeat steps 3 and 4.
  6. When you've finished adding fields, choose a
    Separator Type
    to appear between each field used in the reference number.
  7. Select
    OK
    to return to the
    Billing and A/R
    tab.
  8. Select
    Enter
    to save your changes.
