Troubleshoot projects and tasks not appearing in the Work Queue portlet

Follow these steps to troubleshoot if you have projects or tasks assigned to the work queue that aren't appearing in the Work Queue portlet on the Staff Dashboard for any staff members, or for some staff members and not others.
Check if the project or task meets all of the following criteria:
  • It must be assigned to the work queue: Turn on
    Work queue
    in the
    Assigned
section of the project or task.
  • If
    Ready Tasks only
in the portlet option is marked, the task must be ready to be worked on. A task is ready to be worked on if:
    • It has a
      Target Start date
      either because the
      Received date
has been entered on the project, or the
      Target Start date
is based on months and days before due in the task template.
    • It's either the 1st task in the project, or the previous task is complete (the
      Tracking Description
      was changed to
      Completed
      ).
    • The task is ready to be worked on if
      Yes
      displays in the
      Ready
field of the Manage Projects screen
  • If a
    Staff qualifications filter
    is applied in the
    Assigned
section, the staff member's skill set must meet the filter requirements to display in the Work Queue portlet.
  • The staff member must be available to do the work. The staff member's schedule includes all scheduled items, including assigned projects, tasks, and to do list items. For each of these items, Practice CS divides the number of planned or budgeted hours by the days between the target start and target complete dates, and distributes the time evenly across those days in the assigned staff member's schedule. Practice CS then determines if the planned or budgeted task hours would fit in the staff member's remaining time. If not, the item won't appear in that staff member's work queue. Hours for meetings and Checkpoint Edge classes assigned to the staff member are also included in their scheduled time, and could contribute to unavailability.
