Show or hide fields on a screen or portlet

In Practice CS, you can customize screens and dashboard portlets by showing fields that you need and use and hiding fields that you don't need or use.
There are 2 methods to show or hide fields, depending on which screens you're using:
  1. You can show or hide the fields on the Time & Expense Entry and the Receipt & Adjustment Entry screens by using
    User Preferences
    .
  2. You can show or hide the fields on most other tabular screens and dashboard portlets by using
    Field Chooser
    .

Show and hide fields on the
Time & Expense Entry
and
Receipt and Adjustment Entry
screens

  1. Select
    Setup
    then
    User Preferences
    .
  2. Select either the
    Time & Expense Entry
    or
    Receipt & Adjustment Entry
    tab.
  3. For each field that you'd like to hide, mark the checkbox in the Hide column. This field will no longer appear on the Entry or Overview screens.

Show and hide fields on other tabular screens and dashboard portlets

Most tabular screens and dashboard portlets provide a
Field Chooser
that lets you select which fields are displayed in the grid. You'd want to hide fields that you don't use on the screen in order to reduce its size and minimize the amount of horizontal scrolling you need to do.
To use the
Field Chooser
:
  1. Select
    Field Chooser
    field chooser
  2. Mark the fields you want to show and clear the fields you want to hide.
  3. Select the
    X
    by the Field Chooser to close.
